Waterfowl Pricing & Process

Depending on the type of bird, repairs needed, habitat desired and any other special requests.

typical mounted specimen will cost approximately $495  - $650  (inclusive of labour and materials)

What is involved in the preparation of each piece?

  • The bird is skinned, fleshed and washed several times to ensure plumage is clean and in the best condition for long term quality

  • Artificial bodies and bills and wiring systems are built to ensure stability and desired posture of your specimen

  • Locally sourced wood mounts are hand selected for either a table base or wall mount

  • Duck feet are preserved and painted to match their original shape and form

  • Painting of bills and feet is a combination of air brushed acrylic paints and pan-pastels

  • Habitat can be added for an additional charge and and include elements such as (but not limited to) grasses 

  • Also if desired we can provide progress updates and photos throughout the taxidermy process
